Blog - to my understanding is an anagrammatic acronym of Web Log. Blogs can cover anything from simple diary-like entries to regular or semi regular postings of related or dissimilar subject matter.

Please note, my approach for this article is for an individual much like myself.

An individual bombarded by Blog this, Blog that and don't do that do THIS etc etc. When actually, what I have been trying to calculate is really simple.

What is a Blog? Is there distinctive word count, norm or location for these apparently wonderful online entities? Can anyone do one and should they bother? What do they cost you and how do you earn from them?

Well, to tell you the reality, I am not at all certain. Thought I would let you know that you are not alone!

While I am clearly learning, I be sure to take time to wonder if I am learning what I really need to be learning.

As an aside, I really should apologise now if you came here for any answers, I am only eligible to ask at this stage. But nonetheless, sometimes knowing the questions to seek can give rise to decisions and, dare I say it, answers. I do not believe that it could always be said that I am exact in my communications. I do, nonetheless, like to be thought of as someone able to encourage considered thought in those browsing my tidbits.

A recurring theme in the Blogging pantheon must be noted. Wordpress. Wordpress blogs are not difficult to setup. Wordpress itself provides the means to operate a Wordpress Blog fully hosted, whereby you have the ability to customise the site and obviously, support. Always handy in moments of unexpected emergency that is!

You can host them on your lonesome, as all worthwhile hosting services allow you to install the script with ease. Within my experience the setup and management was relatively easy, though cannot say with any guarantee that my approach was entirely correct. I cheated here though. I found some very good instructional videos that outlined the essentials very nicely indeed! Once again, I really need to apologise. I have failed to remember from whence they came!
